Separation from Margot

We were then sent to another children’s home in Amsterdam. There during July 1939 – only days after arriving in Amsterdam – my sister Margot was adopted by a foster-family. I heard that she had to help a lot in the household and for a short period she could go to school. Up to 1943 I also lived with a foster-family at  Grensstraat 9, until I was deported to Westerbork in February .
